DSG Campfire 2025

This year, our Year 2 Scouts represented the troop to attend Gan Eng Seng Dragon Scouts Campfire. Due to the rain, the Dragon Scouts had to shift the programme to the hall.
Though there wasn’t a real fire, the campfire spirit burned strong, with the troop participating in fun games and singing their hearts out with Campfire Songs 🔥.
Exchange with Mingdao High School

We have a good and long relationship with Mingdao High School all these years. For Mingdao High, and this year, we had 17 Scouts and 2 Teachers were on an exchange programme with our school as part of our Year 4 Gap Sem Programme.
At Mingdao High, all students are scouts, having their investiture in Sec 1. Scouting activities are also a integral part of school lift, having scout activities regularly during curriculum time
After our 02 Year 4 Scouts gave a short introduction to our scout troop, they joined us in fun activities, including backwoodsmen, trestle building with “chariot race” and stove cooking. A unique experience for all 🙂
March Camp 2025

This year’s 2D1N March Camp was especially unique for 02 Scouts as all batches from Year 1-4 were camping at Sarimbun Scout Camp simultaneously. The Year 1-2s were involved in a scout camp organised by the Year 6 Group Council and some Year 3s. The Year 4s were participating in Ventures Foundation Course (VFC) organised by South Area. Some Year 3s were involved as service scouts for a Cub Scout Camp Leaping Wolf which was also at Sarimbun.
This was the first scout camp for Year 1s and they had a lot of fun! Together with Year 2s they tried basha building, outdoor cooking, gadget building etc.
Exciting higlights included the most hype scout campfire ever, with not just campfire songs, but pure hype songs like the popular “Let it Go” from the hit movie “Frozen”, getting everyone into the campfire party mood; and a game of (very chaotic) Charades to end off the camp.

Happy World Scouts Day!
Our Year 2 and Year 4 Scouts embarked on a Heritage Trail organised by Singapore Scout Association South Area. It was a bright sunny Saturday morning. The scouts gathered happily in Singapore Botanic Gardens and then started their hike towards the Esplanade, their ending point. The trail included stopping at a few heritage sights and the scouts learnt about the history and culture of Singapore via an online app.
It was a fun and enriching experience and a great way for scouts to celebrate the occassion 🙂
102nd Birthday Bash

捞鱼生、年年有余咯!
For this year’s Birthday Bash, the Year 3s planned an afternoon of exciting games for the troop and we had our new Year 1s joining as well.
Since the big day coincided with the 15th Day of the Chinese New Year, we decided to end it with a bang, with a big Lo-Hei, last seen back in 2019 (pre-Covid times).
We dumped out the boxes on the tablecloth and chanted our blessings for the coming year, both for oneself and for the troop.
It was great that we could finally do tossing of Yusheng this year, which has always been a core memory for 02 Scouts in pre-Covid times.
Raffles Trail 2025
Another amazing year of Raffles Trail! This year, we brought the iconic 02 experience back to the Yusof Ishak Atrium, showing off our swing and displaying Scouting Memorabilia and awards.
Our Scouts engaged with the Year 1s, giving a personal touch to the more technical aspects of Scouting.
Here’s to another year of amazing Scouting experiences!
2024
National Patrol Camp 2024
From the 14th to the 18th of November 2024, a team of our Year 1 to 3 Scouts headed to Sarimbun Scout Camp for a 4D3N, unforgettable camping experience, pitting themselves up against torrential rains and other natural elements.
Highlights included a “Heritage Tour” to nearby Cemeteries and the Old Ford Factory at Bukit Timah. As one scout describes it “I learned about how yamashita used his skibidi rizzler aura to intimidate Percival so hard” after his visit to the Old Ford Factory.
Activities revolved around SPICES, with bonding activities, physical activities like rock climbing and archery and more.
It was a unique experience after over 5 years of hiatus!
JOTA-JOTI 2024
From 18 to 25 October, our scouts engaged in JOTA-JOTI activities and interactions with Scout Troops from around the world!
We’d like to extend our thanks to the over
11 Scout Troops
from Asia, Europe, Oceania and America that have taken the time to chat with us! Check out our 2 Instagram Posts to find out more! (Post 1) (Post 2)
Investiture and Appointment Ceremony 2024
We witnessed the investiture of our new Year 1 Scouts and the appointment of our Year 3 Court-of-Honour and Year 5 Group Council.
This was also our 2nd year hosting an experiential session, where parents got a first-hand experience of Scouting Activities!
Our Year 1s and Year 5 Leaders also made speeches, talking about their experiences in Scouting and providing insights into the wide range of troop activities organised for our Scouts.
Istana Open House (National Day)
6 of our troop members participated in the Istana Open House for National Day, performing duties such as helping with guided tours, taking photos, helping to give directions and more.
It was a fun and fulfilling experience for all involved and we hope this encourages our Scouts to be even more involved with other communities. 😆
Scout Leadership Camp 2024
Our Y2 2024 batch went for SLC this year, building up skills for their future in Scouting and also for leadership roles as Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders to help lead the troop to greater heights.
This year, we also experienced a tremendous amount of support from our troop, with over 20 Service Scouts from different levels attending!
June Camp 2024
The June Camp this year featured multiple things that have not been seen since pre-COVID times! Our Scouts engaged in an exciting night hike to St Patrick’s School, where they camped for 1 night, and engaged in fun activities at East Coast Park.
It was a novel experience for all our Scouts and we hope everyone had fun!
VIA@Henderson
In collaboration with Creating Smiles (facebook), a Non-Profit Organisation, our Scouts participated in the distribution of meal packets to seniors at Blocks 91-93, Henderson Road.
It was an eye-opening experience for many of our scouts, and all our scouts actively participated and engaged with the seniors!
01 Annual Show/DSG Campfire

Recently, our scouts attended the Annual Show held by 01 Scouts. It was an enthralling time for all with the spectacular show put on by 01.
Whilst some of our scouts attended the Annual Show, others attended the DSG Campfire.
Scouts at both campfires throughly enjoyed themselves with the different campfire songs that were sung and also the wonderfully lively atmosphere.
Hosting Mingdao Scouts
We had the amazing chance to host 13 students and 2 teachers from Mingdao High School (Taichung, Taiwan) who are on an immersion programme at our school.
We learnt about how they do scouting and also shared some of our scouting activities and experiences with them.
Scouting is truly about making friends. (:
South Area Cub Scout Mind Quiz 2024
10th Sri Lanka National Jamboree
Faiq, Jun Hong and Lucas, 3 of our ventures, partook in the 10th Sri Lanka National Jamboree this year as part of the Singapore contingent.
There were many new and unqiue experiences for them, such as badge/scarf trading, interacting with other scouts from around the world and experiencing a completely different environment from the cityscapes of Singapore.
Diamond Jubilee Challenge 2024 Launch + Fireside Chat
Organised by the Singapore Scout Association, 5 of our Year 4 Scouts and 4 of our Year 5 Ventures attended the launch of the Diamond Jubilee Challenge 2024, graced by Minister Josephine Teo.
It was a fruitful experience and discussion for all attending Scouts, and a start to another amazing year of Scouting.
Raffles Trail 2024
We welcomed flocks of Y1s to experience our scouting through pioneering structures, stove cooking and our swing! We are happy to announce that we again managed to fill all 72 trial slots within 24 hours of the event, showing the popularity of the 02 scouting experience.
2023
November Camp 2023
The November Day Camp this year consisted of 3 days of fun and skill training. Some highlights include a trestle-frame race, backwoodsman, stove cooking competitions and more!
Scouts were trained and given a refresher on skills such as orienteering and pioneering, in a competitive patrol-against-patrol setting.
JOTA-JOTI 2023

This year, our scouts had the opportunity to interact with Scouts from across the world virtually through Zoom!
We shared our scouting experiences with scout troops from Australia, UK and Bhutan, and learnt more about their experiences and what scouting means to us.
